Lots to catch up on...

...but it's late and I am spent.

Why? Well, because I worked my tail off this week to get my time in so we could travel Friday. And this morning at 4:30, we left for Disneyland. Then a quick nap. Then off to Downtown Disney for some grub and a few hours at the park.

The drive...well, it sucked. I can't believe how fast and dangerously people drive - and in these little s*%t-box cars that would just be crushed if we were to mix it up in traffic. One guy in particular stands out. And I'm pretty laid back, but when you do something stupid that endangers my family, I get the urge to drag you from your car and beat you silly - whether or not I am capable of doing so, in the moment, I feel sure my rage would vanquish any foe.

I think most people drive more often than I do. So maybe it's just that I forget how awful it is. But I really think it is just getting progressively worse. And people who drive any distance every day don't notice it.

Anyway, I promised myself I would leave the journey behind me once we got here, and I think I did a pretty good job of it.

At least I look pretty happy.

We all do...

Of course we hit Pirates right away...

I need to think about it more, but I am not sure if I like the "updated" Pirates. I'm torn, because on the one hand, we LOVED that movie - all of them, really. But then on the other hand, we loved the original ride which contributed to our appreciation of the movies. So it's Movie imitating ride imitating movie. Or something. But we did manage to have a nip of rum on the ride. Probably the most pirate-ey thing we've done in a long time.

I've also invented my own Hidden Mickey game. More on that tomorrow when I have pictures.

And I have one of those "Jump To Conclusions Mat" ideas. Just don't know how to take it to market and get rich off of it. In broad strokes it would be patented as an olfactory enhancement to allow for a more realistic experience for readers of electronic texts. Basically, scratch and sniff stickers that smell like a new book, or perhaps a library or book store. I think it's a clever idea.

ooo, I'm so jealous you are in Disneyland! I had a similar circular conversation with myself when I saw the remodeled Pirates (ride->movie->ride->huh?).....it seems unnecessary, as it was perfect the way it was. Be sure to take a digital photo of the photo you get on Space Mountain, and post it!
