My Horoscope from The Onion...

Taurus April 20 - May 20

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, though it's your habit of cooking naked that's really pissing the neighbors off.

My Party Idea...

A procrastinator's New Years Eve party. It would be held every year (or so) around the 3rd Saturday of January. It will start precisely at 5:30 or 6:00, or whenever guests can make it. A little after midnight, but certainly before 1:00 am, we would have a countdown and so on to ring in the Procrastinators' New Year. The house will still be festive because the Christmas tree is still up, as are the lights, well half the lights, I took some of them down. And we'll take a bunch of pictures and I'll do a blog post about the party some time in March or maybe April.

Almost half of January has gone by now. Wow. Just Wow.

Work is good. We started a live pilot of the banking application I have been working on for about as long as I can remember. And the good folks at McDonald's are about to sign off on the design of the application I am building for them. And there's a few other things on tap as well.

We've had weird warm weather here for a few days. I think we may have hit 70 today. And some wicked winds to go with.

Tonight I get to get excited about one of those stupid things I like to let myself get excited about - we TiVoed the first two hours last night, so tonight we get 4 solid hours (minus commercials) of 24. Another long day ahead for Jack Bauer, I'm sure. Now, on the topic of 24, there were those who said it was OK for us to commit torture because Jack Bauer does it on 24. I never bought in to that line of thinking. But then Rachel pondered whether having a black president (2 actually) on 24 helped pave the way for Obama.

And then there are those who say E.T., War of the Worlds, Close Encounters, Men In Black, Independence Day, Signs, and so on are really just propaganda put out to get the public used to the idea of aliens.

I have no idea where I was going with all of that.

Anyway. Things are good, and getting better. Who could ask for anything more?

Kickin' Father Time To The Curb...

Happy New Year!

It's been a blur since Christmas. There was helping Lauren and Paul move and then all of a sudden it was New Year's Eve.

Most of us spent the better part of the evening in our jammies and it was grand.

I realized that seeing Dick Clark makes me sad not because he is old, but becuase I have been watching his New Year's Rockin' Eve for over 30 years and seeing him that way reminds me of my own mortality. Everything decays, even Dick Clark, and even you and even me.

Wow, that wasn't very celebratory.

I'll get some more pics up later.
