Whoah-hoah what I want to know is...

Where does the time go?

So sorry for the lack of posts. Work has been kicking my butt. Juggling 3 projects. Did I mention I'm working on a store locator and nutritional information phone application for a fast food company? I wish I could tell you which fast food company, but they made me sign a McNon-Disclosure-Agreement.

I am really proud of the staff of the Hotel Yorba. Rachel, Jake, and I got everything all together, house cleaned top to bottom and everything. Rachel's Mom came up to help tonight, but by the time she got here, there wasn't much left to do. She and Rachel made the pumpkin pies and took a relaxing hot tub in the fog. We don't often get fog here, and when we do, it makes for a really nice soak.

I mopped, cleaned the bathroom, and washed the dogs. Then I made chocolate chip pumpkin bread. And, of course, I made Lola's Stuffing. I repeat, I will take the Pepsi Challenge with ANY stuffing out there. Great Grandma Lola's is the best.

Also, I missed my Blog-iversary a few days ago. 3 Years I've been at this now. So, you know, Happy Belated Anniversary to Mind Blogging Typos. Man I thought that was clever when I thought that up!

And wow, I've been so busy, I am just now hearing about the attacks in India. Thoughts and prayers with everyone touched by that.

And I wish you all safe travel and great food and lots of precious time with family.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow. Or maybe the next day.

Update...

Both suspects are in custody and everything is hunky dory.

The all clear was sounded around 6:00 in the evening. One was caught around 2:00 and the other around 4:30. In both cases residents reported seeing the suspects and our security and law enforcement closed in. A couple of scumbags on meth.

Tough to work today...

Here's a picutre of a helicopter circling over my house.

Here's why...

Sheriff's deputies are searching Hidden Valley Lake for two men believed to have been responsible for a home break-in this morning that resulted in two people being assaulted.Officials also have told community residents to stay in and keep their homes secured.

The attempted burglary occurred on Noble Ranch Road at about 7:20 a.m., according to Capt. James Bauman of the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Two men, who have not been identified, were alleged to have committed the break-in, assaulting two people inside the home, said Bauman.“It's still unclear as to whether or not they were armed at the time or not,” Bauman said. However, he said the two men should be considered armed and dangerous based on the initial incident.

The men reportedly left the scene in a white pickup truck, said Bauman. While responding to the scene a sheriff's deputy collided with a white Chevy pickup. Bauman said the pickup was abandoned on a property on Spruce Grove South near Hidden Valley Lake, as its two occupants fled on foot.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office's Henry 1 helicopter has been searching the community from the sky over the last few hours, said Bauman. At the same time, detectives and deputies are on the ground looking for the suspects.

Bauman said a Citywatch Alert used in emergencies was sent out to residents in a three-mile perimeter of the incident, which amounts to about 60 percent of the community.Hidden Valley Lake Security confirmed two men were being sought, with officials paying particular attention to the Stonegate and Greenridge areas.

Lake County News will continue to report on the situation as it unfolds.

Could be my old neighbor who moved to Cloverdale up in the helicopter flying over his old house.

Got a checkup after I voted...

Here's me in my prom dress...

Everything was good except for my cholesterol.

And I'm bumming about what has to happen. I have to change my diet and exercise.

Now, if you wanted to come up with a list of foods to avoid if you have high cholesterol, it's pretty easy. Just take the list of my 100 favorite things to eat and preface the list with big red letters that say:

DON'T EAT THESE FOODS EVER!

So now the further adventures of the wok every night.

Did you know that one serving of ice cream has roughly 30% of the cholesterol one should consume in a day? And did you know that one serving of ice cream is about 1/2 cup? So yeah, when I have a bowl of coffee ice cream with 3 scoops, and each scoop is about a cup, that's 180% of the cholesterol one should eat on a "normal" diet. And I have to lower mine. So I pretty much just get to lick the glass in the grocery store.

Whatever, I am learning to cook new and healthier things. And Mike and Ikes are still OK.

So yeah, if I stick to this and get some exercise and the meds help, I wonder if I will still be blogging when I'm 70.

Yes we can...

...and yes we did.
Earlier, I felt like it was over when I saw the folks over at Fox discussing what Obama should do.

And later I felt like it was over when I saw Virginia go blue.

Moments before 8, Rachel looked at the numbers and said, "California will do it."
Moments after 8, California did it.

And I've been buzzing that good concert or church experience buzz and crying - no weeping, with joy and hope.

Prediction...

I predict that in the weeks following the election, regardless of who wins, two things will increase: Gas prices and violence in Iraq.

(Whoops - I forgot the picture I am supposed to include with these. Thanks for reminding me commenter.)
