Too many bats...

It's over till April. And it's different this time. It's somehow less thrilling, and yet more satisfying. It's like that first one had to happen for this one to happen. And now that this one has happened, I can see three or four more in the next ten or so years. Too many bats.

Good for Mikey! For a few minutes tonight, I was worried we might be seeing A-Rod at 3rd next year.

i care not for baseball so i've no comment on that, but i did see your human race theory post, the theory being that humanity will eventually split into two factions, one dumb and short and one smart and beautiful.

i recently saw a great comedy called "idiocracy" from writer director mike judge of office space fame.

the movie deals with this very theory, in the far future, the american populace's intelligence level has plummted to the lowest common denominator. the
best show on tv is "OW! MY BALLS!"
it's on dvd and it's a funny flick worth checkin out.

We liked Idiocracy around these parts. Lots of giggles. And some serious ideas as well. And it does make more sense than that smart/beautiful, dumb/short scenario. But what happened to the ruling elite? It's kind of left out of that picture. The Honda Hybrid Driving Career oriented college educated folks decided to not reproduce while pickup driving working class high school graduates (if that) cranked out a bunch of babies. It totally ignored the realities of a ruling wealthy class manipulating both the "smart" people and the "dumb" people.

Which is precisely why I like Edwards and Kucinich. They are the only two candidates I hear talking about class.
