Ahhhh...Last weekend...
It was a simpler, happier time...
Paul is my relaxation role model. Have I mentioned that?
Mike and Dolores and Paul and Lauren came up on Friday. We had spaghetti for dinner and all went to bed relatively early. It's tough to rally on Friday sometimes.
We spent Saturday relaxing and such, as I mentioned in a previous post. Here's some pictures...
Boys in the hot tub...
Girls in the pools...Michael reading and getting his relax on...
I worked the grill and cooked a few other things with a lot of help. Foster's was my reward for working the hot grill in the hot afternoon sun...
And we did the dirty rice over zucchini thing again. That's a nice one. And we did one for Rachel with spices and leftover spaghetti sauce...
Dolores brought some eggplant that Paul stuffed with cheese and onions...
All grubbin'! Then Lauren and Rachel took a ride to the store for crayons and we sat around watching this comedian talking about hot pockets and we also did some coloring....
Except for Michael who continued to read and keep his relax on...
On Sunday I caught Moe in action. Aren't you glad you're not a tennis ball?
This week has been pretty crazy.
We took the Touareg in on Monday evening. (Incidentally, we are toying with the car nickname of Tyrannosaurus Reg, but it's a bit long. And we did call the Trooper the Super Trooper, and always had the Abba song on the iPod.) We took it to the Vallejo VW dealer because Prestige in Santa Rosa has always been nasty and now they are owned by Hansel which makes them nastier. Also, my sister works with a guy who used to work there and they come highly recommended. It took almost two hours to get there with all of the drunk tourists on 29, but the service has been good. Turns out there were a number of recalls and TSBs to deal with. One of them was a battery cable that runs the length of the vehicle and takes the better part of the day to fix. And then there were some parts needed for the ignition switch as well as the horn, which we discovered was non-operable. So anyway, it's there in Vallejo until Friday at least and probably Monday.
Bummer, but it will be nice to have it all tip top, and at no charge save for an hour of labor because I asked them to make sure the brakes were all good. Anyway, work's been busy for me and for Rachel. And the Jetta had a screw in the right rear tire. So Rachel had to take that to Big-O today. And Betsy's in town, so Rachel is going to see her tomorrow. And we got a notice about a high school orientation for Jake Thursday night. And we've been trying to get by with just the one car, but since Rachel will be in Petaluma and I need to take Jake to school, I need to get up early tomorrow and go to work with Eva, I mean Marla, to go to McConnell to pick up a loaner car. And then Friday, Rachel needs to take Jake over the hill for blood work because he has a Remicaid treatment next Tuesday. And we have to go back to Vallejo on Friday or Monday. And then we need to get the loaner back to Santa Rosa.
All of this adds up to lots of hassles and several trips over the hill that can't be consolidated.
Bummer that.
And we still haven't had our garage sale.
